Music Therapy Internship

The Rhythm & Truth internship offers a wide variety of settings throughout Los Angeles county and virtually. Interns enjoy direct supervision from a dedicated and highly skilled team of MT-BCs and even have the option to co-treat with our robust team of Creative Arts Therapists (Drama Therapy, Art Therapy and Dance & Movement Therapy) as well as our teaching artists. Interns can expect to gain experience working in youth and adult mental health groups, 1:1 sessions with neurodivergent and disabled individuals of all ages, memory care and old adult groups, early childhood education and wellness spaces. 

 

What sets Rhythm & Truth apart is our community outreach and unique opportunities to partner with like minded organizations and for special events. We understand that everyone has a different path they are walking and so can be accommodating and flexible with the interns scheduling needs. We offer full time or part time internship hours or a hybrid approach. 

 

One highlight of the R&T internship is the final project, which blends our mission of providing accessible care with the opportunity for the students to make a real tangible difference by choosing a passion population or underserved area where they would like to start a free pilot music therapy program. The intern will deliver music therapy services, measure its impact and learn the process of starting a new program from start to finish. This is an invaluable skill to learn in our field and ensures our interns graduate highly qualified and prepared to work in a diverse range of settings.
