Jafar Lawrence Woods is a dynamic Creative Arts Therapy teaching artist specializing in
Hip-Hop Therapy (HHT), Movement, and Drama modalities. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Arts Therapy from Whitecliffe College in Auckland, New Zealand, and brings a fresh, integrative approach to arts-based therapeutic interventions.Through structured yet flexible workshops, he blends lyrical composition as a therapeutic practice, helping participants find voice and meaning through writing, rhythm, and wordplay, beat-making, movement, and drama to foster self-expression, emotional regulation, and social connection in a supportive and engaging environment. Drawing from his background in music and performance, dance and acting Jafar’s work is rooted in the belief that creative expression is a powerful tool for self-discovery and growth. His sessions emphasize rhythm, storytelling, and embodied movement to help participants navigate their emotions, build confidence, foster creativity and develop essential communication skills.
