Sophia is a Dance/Movement Therapist (DMT) and performer with a love for fostering social connection and empowerment through somatic awareness, creative expression, and play. She received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy from Lesley University in 2026. While originally from Los Angeles, she completed her schooling and clinical internships in New England while utilizing dance, drumming, theater, and storytelling with pediatric, adolescent in-patient, and adult partial hospital settings. Sophia has enjoyed working with numerous community organizations including the Perkins School for the Deaf and Blind, Dance for People of All Ages, BrainCare, Pikes Peak Hospice, BlueCross BlueShield, Kids in Motion, and Roots Physical Therapy + Yoga in various capacities as a creative dance facilitator, yoga instructor, and DMT. She has trained under Laura Wood and Dave Mowers in the Co-Active Therapeutic Theater Model, primarily designed to support populations through active recovery, as well as gained experience with other forms of drama, music, and art therapy.

 

In her free time, Sophia can be found dancing contact improvisation, acting and/or clowning, riding her bike, and exploring nature.
